A JUDGE said a Ballymena man “may be running with the wrong crowd” and warned him if he continues to offend it will end with jail.
District Judge Nigel Broderick was speaking to Cameron Rainey (20), of Queen Street, at the town’s Magistrates Court on Thursday.
The defendant, who had a previously clear record, admitted stealing items from TK Maxx last December and possessing Diazepam – he had 16 of the pills – in May last year.
The defendant told police the Diazepam was for his own personal use.
Defence barrister Stephen Law said the defendant had been struggling to deal with an addiction.
The court heard there had been a co-accused in the TK Maxx incident and Rainey was ordered to pay half of the compensation – £48.
He was given one year’s Probation.
