Man (71) who denies attempted sexual assault of a male is banned from Tower Centre as part of bail conditions

Ballymena Court

A 71-year-old man who denies the attempted sexual assault of a male has been banned from entering the Tower Centre in Ballymena as part of bail conditions.

Charles Redmond, of Kirkwood Manor, Ballymena, is charged in connection with September 17 this year.

The defendant also denies a second charge of harassing the same male for ‘approximately three years’ leading up to September 17.

The accused appeared at Ballymena Magistrates Court on Thursday where a police officer said he believed he could connect the defendant to the charges.

A defence barrister said the defendant was pleading not guilty to both charges.

The case has been adjourned to January to fix a date for a contest.

The defendant was given £500 bail with conditions banning him from entering the Tower Centre and is to have no contact with the complainant.
