Man accused of having machete has the matter sent to Crown Court

A man accused of having an offensive weapon – a machete – at Beechmount Park in Randalstown has had his case sent to Antrim Crown Court.

Arron Samuel Magill-Kernohan (30), with an address at Shetland Gardens in Ballymena, is alleged to have committed offences on February 3 this year.

He is also accused of threatening to kill a woman; assaulting her; damaging her furniture and taking a Renault Megane without authority.

The defendant is further charged with driving whilst disqualified.

The case was mentioned at Ballymena Magistrates Court  where he was remanded in continuing custody.

It has been adjourned to Antrim Crown Court in October.
