Man admits shoplifting spree in Ballymena

A man has admitted a shoplifting spree at stores in Ballymena.

Richard John Green (43), of The Traveller’s Rest, Galgorm Road, Ballymena, committed five thefts on April 9 this year.

He took an £85 jacket from DV8; perfume worth £41 from Semi-Chem; a jacket worth £70 from Grassmen; a jacket worth £170 from Tommy Hilfiger and headphones worth £35 from O2.
Charges of causing criminal damage to a jacket belonging to Tommy Hilfiger, two jackets belonging to DV8 and clothing worth £380 belonging to Grassmen were withdrawn as was a charge of obstructing a police officer.

At Ballymena Magistrates Court on Thursday the defendant’s legal representative was barrister Aaron Thompson.

The case was adjourned to September for a pre-sentence report.
