Man appears in Ballymena Court after being accused of having a hatchet during ‘aggravated burglary’

A MAN is accused of aggravated burglary with intent to steal at a dwelling in Patrick Place in Ballymena whilst having a hatchet.

Keir Kearney (26), whose address was given as no fixed abode in Ballymena, is also charged with damaging a door belonging to a man and assaulting a female on the same date – January 23 this year.

The case was adjourned to April.

The defendant was given £500 bail with conditions including a ban on entering Ballymena apart from matters like attending court.

He has a night time curfew and must reside in the Newtowncrommelin area.
