Man appears in court accused of attempting to rob a charity shop in Ballymena

A man has been in court accused of attempting to rob a charity shop in Ballymena.

Stephen Johnston (24), with an address listed as Casement Street in the town, is charged with attempting to rob cash of an unknown value from the shop which was only described on the charge sheet as ‘The Charity Shop Ballymena’.

The charge relates to April 25 this year.

The case was mentioned at Ballymena Magistrates Court.

The defendant was released on £500 bail and he is not to enter the charity shop at Larne Street in Ballymena and he is to have no contact with witnesses to the alleged offence.

The case was adjourned to June 13.
