A MAN has appeared in court charged with causing the death of a man by dangerous driving.
Martin Jamison (24), of Turnarobert Park, Armoy, is accused of causing the death of Dylan O’Kane by driving dangerously on the Coolkeeran Road near the village on May 7, 2017.
The defendant faces a second charge of causing grievous bodily injury by dangerous driving to Richard McMullan at Coolkeeran Road on the same date.
The defendant was at Coleraine Magistrates Court on Monday for a Preliminary Enquiry – the legal step to send a case to the Crown Court.
A prosecutor submitted that on the basis of the papers before the court there was a case to answer.
A defence solicitor had no contrary submissions.
District Judge Peter King said he was satisfied a case had been established and sent the case to Antrim Crown Court in January.
The defendant was released on continuing bail.
