Man banned from going within 100 metres of his parents’ home as part of a Restraining Order was found hiding in back garden of the property

Ballymena Court

POLICE found a man previously banned from going within 100 metres of his parents’ home crouching below a fence in the back garden of the property.

The discovery involving Gary Hutchinson, was made after officers were called on July 13 this year.

The defendant (33), formerly with an address listed as Shandon Park in Ballymena but now said to be of no fixed abode, appeared at Ballymena Magistrates Court on Thursday via video link from Maghaberry Prison where he had been on remand.

He admitted two breaches of Restraining Orders.

Jailing Hutchinson for five months, District Judge Nigel Broderick said that “sadly” it was not the first time the defendant had breached the Restraining Orders.
