Man denies having chisel and knuckleduster as offensive weapons

A man who denies charges including having a chisel and a knuckleduster as offensive weapons is set to contest the case in the autumn, Ballymena Magistrates Court heard.

Connor Ward (19), with an address at Dunclug Gardens in Ballymena, is accused of having the items at Fisherwick Gardens in the town on January 17 this year.

He is also accused of assaulting a man; making a threat to kill the man; being disorderly; resisting a police officer in the execution of his duty and possessing cannabis on the same date.

The case was mentioned at Ballymena Magistrates Court and adjourned to Antrim Magistrates Court in October.
