Man fined for parking on pelican crossing

A man who parked on the zig-zag lines of a pelican crossing has been fined £165 and given three penalty points.

Raymond Knox, of Garron Park in Portrush, also pleaded guilty to failing to produce his insurance and driving licence.

Coleraine Magistrates Court heard how the 33-year-old came to police attention at the town’s Railway Road on February 6 this year.

In Knox’s defence, solicitor Garrett Greene said the defendant had only stopped for “a short period of time”.
