A man accused of burglary at the Barnardo’s charity shop at Ballymena’s Broughshane Street with intent to steal in October 2017 has had his case sent to Antrim Crown Court.

Derek Alan Kirk (43), of the Simon Community hostel at Lodge Road in Coleraine, is also accused of burglary with intent to steal at Pets At Home in Ballymena in May 2017.

Relating to November 2017 the defendant is accused of burglary of Ballee Pharmacy in Ballymena and stealing perfume and aftershave.

He is further accused of assaulting a police officer and having the Class C drug Zopiclone.

At Ballymena Magistrates Court on Thursday the defendant had his case sent to Antrim Crown Court for arraignment on April 9 and was released on bail.
