Man is accused of having a crossbow in Harryville

Ballymena Magistrates Court

A Ballymena man accused of having an offensive weapon – a crossbow – at Queen Street in the Harryville area of the town and making a threat to kill a female has been further remanded in custody.

Ryan Lynn (21), of Crebilly Road, is also accused of possessing cannabis.

The allegations relate to March 24/25 this year.

The case was mentioned at Ballymena Magistrates Court on Thursday which heard the defendant had previously been granted bail to an address outside Ballymena but had been unable to perfect it.

A prosecutor said an address outside Ballymena was necessary for bail.

Defence solicitor Emma McCann said if an address could be secured in Ballymena the defendant would be prepared to submit to a lengthy night time curfew.

The case was adjourned to April 16 in Antrim.
