Man is accused of stealing four sets of headphones worth £270

A MAN has been accused of stealing four sets of headphones worth £270 from Sainsbury’s in Ballymena.

Robert James Balmer (46), of Shancoole, Ballymena, is alleged to have committed an offence on August 2 this year.

Alongside him in the dock at Ballymena Magistrates Court was Paula Power (42), of Wakehurst Court in the town, who is charged with handling ‘stolen’ goods – headphones – and attempting to ‘convert criminal property’, namely ‘stolen’ headphones.

Balmer was given £500 bail with a condition banning him from Sainsbury’s in Ballymena.

Power was previously given bail which bans her from Sainsbury’s in the town and also from the Tower Centre. The cases were adjourned to October 10.
