Man is accused of theft from pharmacy

A MAN charged with stealing aftershave and perfume worth £58 from Woodside’s Pharmacy in Ballymena has elected to have his case dealt with at the Crown Court.

Gareth McKee (24), of Chichester Park West, Ballymena, appeared at the town’s Magistrates Court on Thursday via video link from prison.

The charge relates to October 7 last year.

Defence solicitor David Nagra there was a “practical reason” for the case going to the higher court.

The case has been adjourned back to the Magistrates Court ahead of a Preliminary Enquiry – the legal step for the matter to be sent to Antrim Crown Court.
