Man is alleged to have committed a sexual assault after visiting town after getting out of Magilligan Prison

A MAN who visited Coleraine after being released from Magilligan Prison is alleged to have been disorderly at the town’s Church Street and is also accused of sexually assaulting a female on July 11 this year.

He is Shaun Patrick Tracey (33), of no fixed abode in Belfast.

The case was mentioned at Coleraine Magistrates Court on September 2 where the defendant appeared via video link from Maghaberry Prison.

Defence solicitor Andrew Kinney said the defendant arrived in Coleraine where he took drink and admitted being disorderly.

The defendant has yet to give either a guilty or not guilty plea to the sexual assault allegation.

A prosecutor asked for the case to be adjourned to September 9.
