A MAN accused of causing grievous bodily harm, with intent, possessing an offensive weapon and assault has been bailed to a Scottish island.

Reece Louden, formerly of Westbourne Crescent, Coleraine, appeared by video link at Coleraine Magistrates Court.

The 25-year-old is charged with causing grievous bodily harm, with intent, to a woman on December 15 last year.

He is also accused of possessing a knuckle duster and assaulting a man, causing him actual bodily harm, on the same date.

A prosecutor said a full file was due on February 11.

A bail application heard that Louden will reside with his grandparents on the Isle of Mull.

The court was told he would have to fly to Glasgow, get a train to Oban and then a boat to Mull.

District Judge Peter King released Louden on his own bail of £500 with conditions including that he does not consume alcohol or drugs and he is not to enter Coleraine except for court.

The case was adjourned until February 17.
