Man is charged with stealing meat from Ballymena shops

A MAN has been charged with a number of thefts including stealing meat from shops in Ballymena.

Terence Dunlop (30), with an address at Townhill Road, Portglenone, is accused of stealing meat worth £41.20 from Spar, Larne Road, Ballymena, on September 11 and meat worth £35 from Robinson’s Supermarket, Cullybackey Road, Ballymena, on August 27.

He is also accused of stealing a £199 TV from Tesco on August 24 and a £199 TV from Tesco, Larne Road Link, Ballymena, on August 26.

Another charge the defendant faces is the theft of alcohol worth £94.50 from Co-Op, Broughshane Street, Ballymena, on September 1.

The defendant appeared at Ballymena Magistrates Court on Thursday via video link from prison and was further remanded in custody until October.
