A MAN who admitted stealing alcohol from Winemark and Lidl worth £34.49 has been jailed for three months.
Maurice Ayres (24), with an address listed as Staffa Drive in Ballymena, had also handled ‘stolen goods’ – alcohol worth £14.50.
The charges relate to February and March this year.
At Ballymena Magistrates Court on Thursday the defendant appeared via video link from prison.
The court was told a release licence in relation to another matter had been revoked and he is due to get out of jail in November.
Defence solicitor Stewart Ballentine said the defendant had been given “enhanced” status in the prison where he was participating in work.
