Man pleads not guilty to thefts from Ballymena shops

A MAN has pleaded not guilty to a series of thefts from shops in Ballymena.

Daniel Madden (23), with addresses given as Orchard Hill in Crumlin and at Dunclug Gardens in Ballymena, is accused of stealing two baskets of goods worth £84 from Co-Op and two bottles of wine worth £18 from Marks & Spencer on September 24 last year.

He is also accused of stealing goods on three different dates last October at the Frys Road Spar in Ballymena.

The case was mentioned at Ballymena Magistrates Court on Thursday and adjourned to October 31.
