Man previously described as a roads ‘menace’ avoids jail after being back at Ballymena Court

A MAN who was described by a judge in 2017 as a “complete and utter menace” and who was jailed for a period along with a four year driving ban at the time for being at the wheel whilst disqualified was caught on the road again in April this year.

Artur Robert Siemienczuk (41), of Dunvale, Ballymena, was detected on April 20 this year at Market Road in Ballymena.

At Ballymena Magistrates Court on Thursday a defence barrister said the April detection involved the defendant buying a car to work on and sell on.

The court heard the defendant has a brain tumour.

District Judge Steven Keown handed down a five months prison term, suspended for three years, along with a four year driving ban.

He warned the defendant: “If you don’t want to go back to jail for a significant period of time this can’t happen again”.
