A man who stole nearly £100 worth of goods from Tesco in Ballymena and a packet of cigarettes from another shop in the town has been given a four months prison term, suspended for a year.

Mark John Page (32), with an address listed as Ballyclug Mews in Ballymena, committed the thefts in April and May this year.

At Ballymena Magistrates Court, District Judge Nigel Broderick told the defendant: “You are developing a poor record and if this is going to continue you are going to go to jail”.
