A MAN was punched outside a bar on July 12 this year, a court heard.
Robert Ryan Gerald Beveridge (41), of Castlewood Avenue in Coleraine, pleaded guilty to assaulting a man.
A prosecutor said a man told police he was punched on the face by Beveridge causing him to fall to the ground and when he got back up the defendant tried to assault him again.
The man suffered swelling to his face particularly around his eyes and also a cut to his knee following the incident in Coleraine.
Defence solicitor Briege Martin told Coleraine Magistrates Court there was a background to the case.
She said Beveridge was a “family man” who realised what he did on July 12 was unacceptable.
The defendant was fined £350 and also has to pay the man £150 in compensation.
