Man was smoking cannabis at ‘noisy party’

Ballymena Court

POLICE attended a report of a “noisy party” at 12.30am on February 5 this year in the Clonavon Terrace area in Ballymena and noticed a man smoking a rolled up cigaratte containing cannabis.

Andrew Bain (21), whose address was listed as Chiswick Walk in Ballymena but now said to have his own address at North Street in the town, was at Ballymena Magistrates Court on Thursday and admitted possessing cannabis.

District Judge Nigel Broderick said upon Appeal the defendant had previously been “given a chance” but he had “repaid that” by re-offending.

He told the defendant, who was given a two months jail term suspended for a year: “You need to stay off drugs”.
