Man who allegedly called another person a ‘paedophile’ is fined £200

Ballymena Court

A MAN who allegedly called another person a “paedophile” has been fined £200 after admitting a charge of harassment.

Melvyn McCosh (51), of Old Cullybackey Road, Cullybackey, committed the offence last April.

A defence solicitor told Ballymena Magistrates Court the defendant had murmured “something” in a drunken state.

The judge said he was prepared to put the incident down to “drunkenness”.

He told McCosh if he continued to harass the other person it would not be a fine the next time.
