Man who went to ATM machine in Ballymena at 12.50am had his uninsured Skoda car seized

Sainsbury's in Ballymena

A MAN who went to an ATM machine to get cash at 12.50am in Ballymena was in an uninsured Skoda.

Tiberiu Rus (21), a forklift driver, of Patrick Place, Ballymena, was detected at Sainsbury’s car park on November 25 last year.

Defence solicitor Stewart Ballentine said the defendant had “never been in trouble in his life, either here or his homeland”.

The lawyer said his client had gone to the ATM machine to make an “urgent withdrawal”.

The uninsured vehicle was seized.

The defendant was banned from driving for a month and fined £200 at Ballymena Magistrates Court on Thursday.
