A man who previously admitted causing criminal damage – in an incident which was described at Ballymena Magistrates Court as a “hate crime” – and who had been given a four months jail term has this week had it suspended for three years on appeal.
Kevin Alan Henderson (28), of Rossdale Manor, Ballymena, damaged a window, window blinds and a picture belonging to a person on September 30 last year.
On the same date he damaged a front door belonging to another person.
The defendant was given the jail term at Ballymena Magistrates Court recently but appealed the sentence.
At the County Court in Coleraine this week the sentence was changed to four months in prison, suspended for three years, on appeal.
