Motorist caught without insurance on five occasions ‘hopes to get job in Spain’

Ballymena Court

A MOTORIST caught without insurance on five occasions had his Skoda vehicle seized after the latest detection at Casement Street in Ballymena, the town’s Magistrates Court heard.

Filip Rac (36), with an address listed as Orkney Drive in Ballymena but said to now be living at Hugomont Mews in the town, committed the latest offence on November 20 last year.

A defence solicitor said the insurance had “expired”.

He said the defendant hopes he may have a job to go to soon in a hotel in Spain.

Rac was given a three months prison term, suspended for a year, and banned from driving for six months.
