Motorist claims he was not wearing seat belt because of ‘tendonitis’


A MOTORIST spotted not wearing a seat belt near his home claimed it was because he had some difficulties with “tendonitis,” s court heard.

Jonathan Neill (24), of Westbourne Crescent in Coleraine, pleaded guilty to failing to wear a seat belt.

The incident came to light at Westbourne Crescent in August last year.

The defendant previously had three points on his licence and at court on Monday he was banned from driving for a month and fined £100.

Meanwhile, the defendant is charged in connection with an alleged incident at McDonald’s restaurant in Coleraine last September.

He is accused of driving whilst unfit and is also accused of being in charge of a vehicle whilst unfit.

That case was adjourned to February 3.
