A MOTORIST with a provisional driving licence who decided to get some ‘practice’ struck another vehicle in the car park near Dunclug Community Centre in Ballymena, the town’s Magistrates Court heard.

Sharon Louise Dunlop (49), of Deramore Avenue, Ballymena, admitted using a Nissan Pulsar without insurance and not having L plates displayed in connection with the incident on September 18 this year.

A defence solicitor said it was a “somewhat unusual case” and told the court the vehicle’s owner went to pick up a child and had then suggested to Dunlop that she should “practice” driving in the car park.

The defendant was given six penalty points and fined £200.
