Mum-of-two stole trolley load of goods from Sainsbury’s but was caught when she attempted it a second time

A MUM-of-two on benefits who made off with a trolley load of goods of undetermined value from Sainsbury’s returned just over a week later but this time was caught.

Linzi Floyd (35), of Winston Way in Coleraine, appeared at the town’s Magistrates Court on Monday September 2 and pleaded guilty to two charges of theft.

She had taken goods on June 28 this year from Sainsbury’s in Coleraine and on July 7 she was caught stealing a trolley load of goods worth £252.48.

Defence solicitor Briege Martin said the goods on the second occasion were recovered.

The lawyer said the defendant had a “highly emotional” interview and she was ashamed and embarrassed.

Ms Martin said the defendant had been “struggling financially and mentally” but that the court appearance had been a “wake-up call”.

The defendant was fined £350.
