Penalty points for uninsured driver … on his birthday

Ballymena Court

A GLENWHERRY man has been given six penalty points and fined £250 for being uninsured to use a Seat Ibiza – on July 11 this year.

James O’Neill’s case was heard at Ballymena Magistrates Court on Thursday – his 30th birthday.

The defendant, of Grove Park, also admitted a driving licence offence.

Defence solicitor David McIlrath said the defendant thought he was insured.

The court heard the defendant’s licence had previously expired.
