Police smelt cannabis at property and then ‘joints’ were found

Ballymena Court

POLICE smelt cannabis at a property and a man admitted ‘joints’ were his for personal use.

Connor Dunlop (32), of Centuripe Avenue, Ballymena, appeared at the town’s Magistrates Court on Thursday and admitted possessing cannabis.

The drugs were found on August 16 this year.

A defence solicitor said the defendant had a long-standing drug addiction.

Handing down a two months jail term, suspended for a year, District Judge Nigel Broderick told the defendant he really had to “get to grips” with his drug issues.
