POLICE spotted a child in a gap between seats in a car being driven in the Toome Road area near Ballymena and the motorist has now received three penalty points and fines totalling £225.
Jan Durbaca (25), of Wilson Crescent in Ballymena, was detected on May 4 this year.
Defence solicitor John McAtamney told Ballymena Magistrates Court, on Thursday, there was a child seat but it had been removed in relation to the car being up for an MOT.
He said the defendant had only gone a “short distance”.
The defendant admitted charges of driving a vehicle when there was a child under the age of 12 and under 135cms in height without a proper child restraint; being an accompanied learner driver and not having L plates displayed.
