Police swooped on address regarding potential drug dealing and man then jumped out window before being caught in forest

POLICE swooped on an address regarding potential drug dealing and a man then jumped out of a rear bedroom window before being chased and caught in a forest.

In connection with the case, Karol Jakubiak (22), of Greenmount Drive in Coleraine, appeared at Coleraine Magistrates Court and admitted charges of possessing cannabis with intent to supply and obstructing a police officer on October 2 this year.

A prosecutor told the court police had gone to Greenmount Drive in an unmarked car where a male on a motorcycle was stopped outside an address and items recovered included £40 herbal cannabis.

He was taken to the property where a male jumped out a rear bedroom window and ran off.

The male was carrying a tub and was chased and detained in a forest.
£140 worth of cannabis was recovered and some had been scattered in bushes.

Items found in the house included deal bags and scales.

Jakubiak made full admissions to the charges he faced.

At court, defence barrister Thomas McKeever said it was accepted it was a “serious matter”.

The case has been adjourned to December for a pre-sentence report.
