A COURT heard there was a “positive” pre-sentence report on a man who stole goods worth £10 from Poundland in the Tower Centre in Ballymena.
Ciaran McKeown (25), of Dunclug Park in Ballymena, pleaded guilty to a charge of theft relating to October 11 last year.
Ballymena Magistrates Court was previously told the defendant had a record and was “well known” to the court.
Defence solicitor John McAtamney told Thursday’s Court although his client had a very poor record the items taken from Poundland were of low value.
He said the defendant had not offended in recent months and a pre-sentence report was “positive”.
The lawyer said the defendant may benefit from having “structure” in his life and McKeown was given 100 hours of Community Service.
