Security guard told police about stolen sun glasses

A SECURITY guard told police a pair of sun glasses had been stolen by a male and they were then discovered in a woman’s handbag.

The woman – Danielle McCollum – appeared at Ballymena Magistrates Court on Thursday and pleaded guilty to receiving stolen goods.

The glasses worth £4.99 belonged to Blue Inc.

The incident happened on September 17 last year at the Tower Centre in Ballymena.

Defence solicitor Don Mahoney said the defendant – with an address listed as Kennaught Terrace in Limavady – had been in a “very toxic relationship” at the time but it had now ended.

The defendant, who had a number of previous convictions, was fined £200.
