A COURT heard a man with two convictions is “done with drugs”.
McAuley Bishop (21), of Drumtara, Ballymena, was in a vehicle stopped by police at 2.15am on October 9 this year and officers detected a strong smell of herbal cannabis.
The defendant was also said to be “very nervous and anxious” in front of police.
Two grammes of cannabis were discovered and the defendant said it was for his own use.
A defence solicitor told Ballymena Magistrates Court the defendant is now “done with drugs”.
District Judge Nigel Broderick said it was the defendant’s second conviction regarding drugs which seemed to indicate Bishop had a problem with substances.
He was fined £200.
