Suspended jail term for stealing goods worth £175 from B&M Bargains

Ballymena Court

A MAN who admitted stealing household goods worth £175 from B&M Bargains in Ballymena has been given a four months jail term, suspended for two years.

Terence Dunlop (30), formerly of Townhill Road in Portglenone but now of Queen Street in Ballymena, committed the theft on October 12, 2018.

He was also ordered to pay compensation for the stolen items.

A defence barrister told Ballymena Magistrates Court on January 2 the defendant had been “homeless” at one stage.

The lawyer said the defendant has been engaging with Probation and is now living with a family member and “he instructs me he is off drugs”.
