Taking out e-cig in presence of police leads to cannabis detection

Ballymena Court

WHEN a man took out an e-cig police noticed he was in possession of cannabis.

The detection came when police responded to a report that a vehicle had crashed in Larne on January 4 this year.

Ballymena Magistrates Court heard that when officers arrived at the scene there were three people present.

One of them – David Wallace (39), of Seagoe Gardens, Newtownabbey – has now admitted a charge of possessing the Class B drug.

Defence solicitor Stewart Ballentine said it was a small piece of cannabis for his client’s own use.

The defendant was fined £150.
