Tower Centre bail breach man claimed he was moving between taxi offices

A solicitor for a man accused of thefts whose bail conditions barred him from entering the Tower Centre in Ballymena claimed he only entered the shopping complex because he was going from one taxi office to another.

David John Gibson (34), with an address listed as Hill Street in Ballymena, faces a number of charges including the theft of Armani and Davidoff The Game aftershave from Boots in February and March this year.

He is also charged with stealing Xbox games worth £300 from B&M Bargains in February and having cannabis on April Fool’s Day.

The defendant, who appeared at Coleraine Magistrates Court, is also accused of making a threat to kill a female and a threat to damage windows belonging to her on May 30.

The cases have been adjourned to August.
