Uninsured vehicle user ‘thought family member had arranged insurance’

Ballymena Court

A MAN caught using a Seat Leon without insurance at the Galgorm Castle car park claimed he thought he was covered because a family member was meant to have arranged the policy during a work break.

However carpet fitter Josh Irvine (20), of Old Frosses Road, Cloughmills, was uninsured on June 8 this year.

At Ballymena Magistrates Court, where his defence solicitor was Stewart Ballentine, the defendant was given six penalty points and fined £200.
