Ballymena Court

A 39-year-old woman has been charged with making a threat to kill a woman and possessing offensive weapons – a knife and hammer – with intent to commit grievous bodily harm.

Kerry Ward, of Dunclug Gardens in Ballymena, is also accused of assaulting the woman and causing criminal damage to a door and front window.

The defendant – who appeared in the dock at Ballymena Magistrates Court on Thursday – is also charged with driving with excess alcohol in her breath at Hugomont Mews in Ballymena and failing to provide a breath sample.

The charges relate to September 5 this year.

A police officer believed he could connect the accused to the charges.

The court was told it was believed there is video footage of an alleged incident.

The defendant was given £500 bail with conditions that she is to have no contact with the alleged injured party; she is not to enter Hugomont Mews and she is not to be intoxicated in public.

The case was adjourned to October 17.
