Woman convicted of £10,000 benefit fraud

A WOMAN was convicted at Antrim Crown Court today for claiming over £10,000 in benefits she was not entitled to.

Sara Kinney (47) of Barkley Court in Dunaghy near Ballymoney claimed Housing Benefit totalling £10,263 while failing to declare she was in receipt of excess capital.

She was given a 12 month conditional discharge. The fraud was uncovered following an investigation by the Department for Communities.

All wrongfully obtained money has been repaid to the Department for Communities.
