A WOMAN who used her partner’s Honda Jazz vehicle to go a short distance to a garage “because it was raining” has been banned from the roads for a month and fined £400.
Shannon Elder (26), of Lettercreeve, Ballymena, admitted chcarges of taking a vehicle without authority; absence of insurance and a driving licence offence.
Police stopped her at Antrim Road, Ballymena, on December 10 last year.
Defence solicitor Stewart Ballentine told Ballymena Magistrates Court on Thursday the defendant’s partner was not in at the time and the car had been taken “because it was raining”.
He said she is about to sit her driving test.
