A woman who had a knife and assaulted a number of people at a Birthday Party has been given a four months prison term.
Kelly McAllister (26), of Clarence Street in Ballymena, committed offences on June 1 this year at Warden Square in the town.
She was at Ballymena Magistrates Court on August 8 for sentencing after previously admitting charges of possessing an offensive weapon – a knife – and assaulting three people.
Police were called at 2.50am and there was a report that McAllister had approached a person whilst carrying the knife.
It was also heard that a person received cuts to a hand whilst trying to remove the knife.
A defence lawyer said it was a “regrettable” incident and the defendant had been intoxicated but was now apologetic and remorseful.
McAllister was given a four months prison term but was released on bail pending appeal.
