Woman is charged with stealing £1,300 worth of goods from Sainsbury’s in Ballymena and also ten bottles of Zoflora disinfectant from Poundstretcher

A WOMAN is accused of stealing more than £1,300 worth of items from Sainsbury’s in Ballymena.

Louise Browne (31), of Lanntara, Ballymena, is alleged to have stolen grocery/hardware items worth £590 on July 19 this year and grocery/hardware items worth £774 on July 22.

She is also alleged to have stolen a bottle of Fabulosa disinfectant and approximately ten bottles of Zoflora disinfectant to the total value of £30 from Poundstretcher at Braidwater Retail Park in Ballymena on May 9 this year.

The cases were mentioned at Ballymena Magistrates Court on Thursday where a police officer believed she could connect her to the charges.

A defence barrister said the defendant had “acute heroin difficulties” and efforts were underway to get her into a a residential treatment facility either in Northern Ireland or England.

The court heard bail conditions included a “prohibition” on the defendant entering Sainsbury’s and the Braidwater Retail Park.

The cases were adjourned for six weeks.
