A WOMAN caused more than £400 worth of damage to her former partner’s car which was scraped and had a “mirror kicked off” at his workplace, Ballymena Magistrates Court heard.
Kathryn Logan (40), with addresses listed as Firmount Drive in Antrim and Rectory Fields, Broughshane, committed a number of offences last summer.
The defendant admitted causing criminal damage to a car and breaching a Restraining Order in July, 2019.
Last June she was disorderly at Arran Avenue in Ballymena and made a threat to “break every window” in a house and also damage a car and belonging to a woman.
When spoken to by police she said: “I just flipped”.
Also last June the defendant admitted a charge of harassing her former partner by leaving “abusive” text messages and voice messages including a comment that “people were going to come and get him” and that he would “need protection”.
Defence barrister Stephen Law said the incidents arose out of a “very acrimonious separation” between the defendant and her husband.
He said Logan had been “struggling” with the situation and had been “acting totally irrationally”.
At Ballymena Magistrates Court on Thursday the defendant was given a four months jail term, suspended for a year, and ordered to pay compensation of over £400 for damage caused to her former partner’s car.
