A WOMAN listed stolen rolls of wallpaper for sale on social media, Ballymena Magistrates Court heard.
Leanne Williamson (36), of Burma Place in Ballymena, admitted stealing two rolls of wallpaper and three picture frames worth £28.75 from The Range store in the town.
She also admitted fraud by false representation by attempting to claim a refund from The Range.
She further pleaded guilty to converting criminal property – ‘namely rolls of wallpaper’.
The charges relate to November 2019.
At Ballymena Magistrates Court on Thursday a defence solicitor said the defendant had a “bad, relevant, record” and had been in jail for a number of days in connection with an unpaid fine.
Her benefits had been cut off when she got out and with no income was struggling and had acted out of “desperation”.
District Judge Nigel Broderick said the defendant had a very poor record for dishonesty offences but said there was a “glimmer of hope” in a Probation report and he deferred sentence until July.
He said the defendant must not re-offend and must engage positively with Probation.
