Woman made threats to damage windows in house and car

Ballymena Court
A COURT has heard a woman was called a “Feni*n b*stard” and a threat was made that all the windows in her house and windows in her car would be broken.
Kathryn Logan (39), formerly of Arran Avenue in Ballymena and now with an address in Antrim town, appeared at Ballymena Magistrates Court on Thursday in connection with charges of being disorderly at Arran Avenue in Ballymena and marking threats to destroy property on June 13 this year.
She had also harassed her ex-partner on June 29 this year when she sent abusive text messages and left threatening voicemails in the middle of the night.
The court heard police were told by a woman that Logan had made threats and when officers spoke to an intoxicated Logan and left they received another report a short time later that more threats had been made against the woman.
When interviewed the defendant claimed to police she believed the neighbour was “trying to get her evicted” and she was angry and she didn’t care what people thought about what she had done.
District Judge Nigel Broderick said the defendant had a “complex background” and was engaging with mental health services.
He deferred sentencing until next year and said if Logan re-offended or failed to continue to engage with mental health services she ran the risk of receiving a custodial sentence.
