Woman sent ‘menacing’ video messages

Ballymena Court

A woman who sent five video messages – two of which were deemed menacing – has been given a one year conditional discharge after appearing at Ballymena Magistrates Court.

Nora Ward (38), of Dunclug Gardens in the town, pleaded guilty to a charge of sending by means of a public electronic communications network a message or other matter that was of a menacing character.

The offence was committed on July 1 last year.

The court heard the other three messages contained “derogatory comments”.

A defence solicitor said the defendant wished to apologise.
